Reader's Annotation:
Kit Hargrove, a divorced mom, learns about family, love, and the price of secrets as she rewakens her passion for life and love in a small but exclusive Connecticut beach town.
Summary:
The novel is set in an affluent Connecticut beach community where Kit Hargrove, recently divorced, has happily exchanged the expensive accoutrements of her life married to a Wall Street Banker for a cozy Cape Cod abode. Her ex-husband is cooperative, her children are contented and she lands a dream job assisting Robert McClore a reclusive, blockbuster crime writer who becomes her romantic interest. A number of women in town envy her relationship but then a series of unexpected events compels Kit to come to the realization that her delightful, charmed life and blossoming new romance are not what they seem.
Evaluation:
Jane Green is a popular writer of women's fiction and I found this book very entertaining and a light read. Dune Road is a perfect beach read or light and fluffy reading that will not tax your brain but keep you interested enough to read to the end.
Why I Would Include It:
This book was included because it makes for good, light reading in addition to a perfect beach read as do many of Jane Green's books.
Rating: 4
Read Alikes:
Jane Green has written a number of chick lit books i.e. Second Chance, Promises to Keep, and The Beach House are just a few recommendations.
